Custom Domain
By default, your Website is assigned a Solidarity Tech sub-domain like my-organization.solidarity.tech. Custom domains are on the Standard, Professional, and Enterprise plans. You can easily connect your own domain and use it as a custom domain or subdomain. You will have to log in to the domain registrar that owns your domain, and edit the domain's DNS records.
Custom root domain
Connecting a root domain allows your Website to assume web serving control for your entire domain. To connect a custom domain, open your website from 'Pages' in the sidebar and click the 'Domains' tab. Under 'Connect a Custom Domain', click 'Connect'. Input the domain you want to connect, and you'll then be shown the instructions to connect your domain.
Custom subdomain
If you want your Solidarity Tech Website to be hosted to your subdomain, while your primary website is hosted elsewhere, you should connect a subdomain. Open your website's 'Domains' tab. Under 'Connect a Custom Subdomain', click 'Connect'. Input the subdomain you want to connect, and you'll then be shown the instructions to connect your domain.
Update DNS records & verify
To verify that you own the domain, you will have to login to your domain provider’s website, and find the DNS settings or domain management area. Follow the instructions on the 'Domains' tab for updating your DNS records, changing any A & CNAME records necessary.
Click 'Verify Domain' for a root domain, or 'Verify Subdomain' for a subdomain, to check your DNS record changes and put the domain in use. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to update. A 'Pending' domain does not verify by itself. After you wait, click the verify button again.
Using Cloudflare
If Cloudflare manages your DNS, set each record for Solidarity Tech to 'DNS only' (gray cloud). Keep the records on DNS only after the domain verifies. Solidarity Tech does not support the Cloudflare proxy (orange cloud). With the proxy on, the domain cannot verify or load.
- When adding your DNS records in Cloudflare, set each record to "DNS only" (gray cloud)
- Click "Verify Domain" for a root domain, or "Verify Subdomain" for a subdomain.
- Leave the records on "DNS only" after the domain verifies. Do not turn the proxy back on.
